What an imaginative, adorable story about uniqueness, beauty, and filtering out negative nonsense from others! The illustrations are spot on. Well done, Loren!

“The Tangle Fairy addresses a sensitive topic in the Black Community that is familiar to many of us… “good and bad hair”! It is a story with historic roots, reminiscent of one’s value being measured by the texture of their hair. Young Yasmeen learns an important lesson about the beauty of Black hair and is lead on a journey to embrace her own.

I appreciate how the author bravely tackles this subject without apology! She uses a variety of characters to encourage young readers to see the beauty in themselves.

The illustrations in this book are fun and unique! I like how the illustrator superimposed his drawings on digitally created backgrounds…very clever!

I recommend this book to everyone with children, so they learn to see the beauty in all people, with all types of hair!”

The Tangle Fairy is a genius book talking about a topic into something simple yet witty.
I love how the author represents differences, that you are beautiful no matter what the color of your skin is, or what texture of your hair is.
Every parent out there should let their children read this book!
