Trader Cormac, Spell Master
Paperback
Our 7th century hero, Cormac Gunnarson, returns in Book 3 for another adventure. He has shared his adventures in Book 1: Brother Kell’s Book of Spells, and Book 2: Cormac Returns for a Spell and is now off on another adventure.
This talented youngster relies for some of his success with the Book of Spells, a secret family heirloom blessed by a hermit of Skellig. He holds an earlier, magical version of The Book of Kells, whereby selected pages showing birds, animals and fishes that can be temporarily brought to life by a holy invocation. Some other pages show more exotic creatures that only existed in the mind of the creator, Brother Kell, and are enchanted by a distant shape-shifting ancestor. Many of Cormac’s adventures have seen him escape from danger by the use of Odin’s tarn helm, which makes the wearer invisible.
In this adventure, Cormac keeps in touch with his pregnant wife during his voyages for THE NEW DEVA TRADING COMPANY of Chester, using the services of Odin’s mind-reading raven.
